Antares is the red giant star located in the heart of Scorpio.   Also visible in this photograph are two globular star clusters.  M4 is the brighter cluster in the upper right and the fainter one is NGC 6144.

Photographic Information:
Intrument: Astro-Physics EDT 130mm refractor and field flattener.
Exposure: One 70 minute exposure.
Camera: Pentax 6x7 medium format with Kodak PPF 400 film.
Guiding: Celestron 80mm with an ST-4 CCD autoguider.
Date: May 2000.
Location: Monument Valley, Utah.
