Machu Picchu Peru Purchase Print    Machu Picchu was home to the ancient Inca priests.  The Spanish conquistadors were unable to find this lost city.  It was not found until 1911 when Hiram Bingham stumbled on the snake infested citadel.  Only a chosen few in the Inca empire were allowed to glimpse this amazing city. This photograph of Machu Picchu, the "lost city" of the Incas was taken during my visit to Peru in November 1998.
